Le Pech De Rose
Le Pech de Rose is a large, comfortable, luxury four-bedroom home in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Les Eyzies in sunny south-western Dordogne.
The house sits in gardens including its own woodlands of approximately one acre.
There is a swimming pool in the beautiful back garden, which is available during the summer.
There is a double bedroom downstairs with a lovely bathroom adjacent, which contains a rainshower and slipper bath.
There are three more bedrooms upstairs, with a grand master bedroom containing a super-king-size white, ornate French bed and matching furniture; a pretty bedroom with double and single beds; and a cute bunk bed room.
There is also a shower room and separate toilet on this floor, and there's a day bed on the large landing.
The light and spacious lounge and dining room are in an 'L' shape and can be reached via the front steps of the terrace.
These rooms contain three large sofas and an armchair, a dining table and chairs for eight, and a matching sideboard full of interesting books.
There is a 50" TV, a DVD player, a PS2 games console with games, and free high-speed WiFi.
The kitchen is typically French with oak cupboards and dishwasher, oven and hob, microwave, and every utensil you could need, including coffee grinder, juicer, espresso makers, wok, pasta-maker etc.
The house is reached via its own drive through two white metal gates at the lane to the front of the house, and is very private, though not remote.
Its about one kilometre from the village which is full of tourists in summer, and has twelve restaurants, baker, butcher, post office, cash dispensers, laundry, ice cream parlour, hotels, and a beautiful riverside setting.
The whole area is full of pre-historic caves and crystal grottoes, with cave paintings to discover - it's a fascinating area, with the wide rivers Dordogne and Vézère, beautiful honey-coloured villages and friendly people.
There are places to hire canoes, for pony riding, bike riding, and many places to eat delicious French cuisine, with the main delicacies in this part of France being foie gras, truffles, snails, duck and goose.
Its a gourmet's delight!
Hi, we are a married couple in our late fifties and love to travel.
We've owned our house in France since 2011, and now live there permanently - PLEASE NOTE we rent it out during the summer and so we are unable to exchange during June, July and August.
We love to travel and think that homeswapping during our winter/autumn months could be an ideal way to do it, as we like our home comforts.
We love our home, and would appreciate and look after yours as if it were our own.
We don't have any pets but are willing to look after yours.
You would need a car in this area - we may be able to provide one - please email us.
We're particularly interested in visiting the far east and California in 2016-17!
