United Kingdom / London / North East London
Perfect apartment for a young couple, located in north-eastern London, five to ten minutes' walk from Walthamstow Central tube station on the Victoria line.
Living room with TV and WiFi connection, large bedroom with a double bed, bathroom, and a small garden.
It's all new and very clean, since it was refurbished just a few months ago. It is all one one level, in a simple house in a very quiet street, and just twenty-five metres from a very nice park.
IMPORTANT: We share this apartment with a friend who has her own room. She is not here very much, but she does live here, so it is important that you realize that you are not alone in the house! However, she is very quiet and discreet, and she could no doubt give you many useful tips too.
This is not a very posh neighbourhood - but quite popular.
(Find out about the famous Walthamstow market, for instance!)
We have lived here for a year now, and we like it!
The population is cosmopolitan, and people get on very well with each other!
A great advantage is that there is a tube station nearby, which means that you can get straight to Oxford Circus in just twenty minutes.
And there is a swimming pool and a sports hall just five minutes' walk away, a lovely park with a museum just twenty-five metres away, and a shopping centre and lots of shops just five minutes' walk away.
We are a young French couple, Soraya and Silvin, both twenty-six years old.
We live in this neighbourhood since it is a good compromise between "very expensive central London" and "a suburb too far way" So we have everything we need nearby, including convenient public transport.
We are spending a year in London in order to improve our English, but we actually come from Marseille in the south of France.
We love to travel and explore other regions and cultures - which is why we decided to try home exchanging, in the hope of finding a couple (or two single people) in America who would like to do the same, which would reduce the cost of a trip to the other side of the Atlantic very considerably.
And quite apart from the financial aspect, the personal side of home exchanging is of course very important too - not least making new friends!
So hope to see you soon, dear new friends-to-be in New York!
