Uruguay / Montevideo
Cosy Apartment In Montevideo's Old Town
Beautifully modernised, cosy and bright apartment from the 1900s, located in the Old Town of the city of Montevideo.
Uruguay is a very small country, which means that you can reach beautiful seaside resorts such as Punta del Este, Cabo Polonio etc in less than three hours.
This is the old part of the city of Montevideo. The streets are narrower, and the buildings are older. There is a charm here that hasn't been overly modified.
No one visiting Montevideo should miss spending one or two days walking through the Ciudad Vieja (the Old Town).
This walk should begin in the Harbour Market with its many different cuisines, from the national parrillada to the French restaurants.
From there, go on to the Sarandà Street pedestrian zone, where there are several museums, some art galleries, cafés, beautiful churches, and superb examples of Art Noveau and colonial architecture.
Following Sarandà Street on the way to Independence Square there are several leatherware and book stores and more cafés, and near Independence Square you'll find Teatro Solàs, Uruguay's oldest theatre, and also still more cafés where you can stop for some refreshment and relaxation.
I'm a graphic designer and illustrator.
We are both self-employed.
