Geenee is growing all the time, and we are making constant improvements to help you plan your sojourn abroad.
There are now about 12 000 properties listed on the site, including 3000 in the United States and Canada, almost 5000 in France, and almost 2000 in the United Kingdom. In 2008 alone, we made 4000 exchanges happen.
Geenee to keep open-use policy

Geenee, the rapidly growing home-exchange service, will keep its open membership policy in effect despite the company’s soaring popularity.
Geenee members can browse homes, list their homes, and even contact other members without paying a fee. Members only pay for their exchanges when they have found an exchange partner and are ready for their vacations.
Geenee welcomes 10,000th Member.

Travel Channel wants to do series on home exchange. Looking for volunteers

In a nutshell, The Travel Channel are attempting to capture the phenomenon of home exchange and profile it in a half hour pilot. Danya Berman, based in LA, is the casting director for the new series which will air on the travel channel. In Danya’s words “Geenee has been selected as THE party to join us on this path to a great series”
Geenee supports ‘The Ethical Travel Guide’ launch

Last night Allan attended the launch of ‘The Ethical Travel Guide’ at Stanfords Book Store in Central London. The Guide is an acknowledgement of travel organizations that demonstrate ecotourism values. Geenee is a strong supporter of sustainable tourism and has a full page in the guide (shown below) Tricia Barnett the Director of Tourism Concern gave a stirring description of the benefits of tourism done correctly, as well as the many challenges remaining.
