Our Home

A quiet and secure, comfortable one bedroom home with river frontage, featuring summer swimming and water activities.

Our home is modern, warm and comfortable. Grounds and an adjoining home are shared by our daughter Nina, Aron and their three school aged boys.

We live in a gated community of eleven homes, with a balance of younger families and retired couples.

The house is self contained and off the power grid. This has little or no impact on daily living.

The pantry, freezer and cupboards are stocked on a use it, replace it basis.

The home is heated by a log burning enclosed fire during winter. (May to October)

Outside these months heating and or air conditioning is not necessary.

There are two outdoor living areas with a gas b/q and entertainment facilities.

Our Neighbourhood

Taupo township is a twelve minute walk along a river reserve or five minute drive away.

This area features the country’s largest freshwater lake, source of the largest river, a modern shopping and service centre, with the Tongariro National Park and mountains an hours drive away.

This is a much visited recreation area with top walking, fishing, mountain biking, summer and winter activities.

Taupō is in the central north island, about 1.45 minutes from the east coast beaches, 2 hours from the west coast, one hour from Rotorua (thermal features) and 3.5 hrs from the Auckland international airport.

Taupō is a thermal area featuring thermal pools, features and walks. (within minutes drive)

About Us

We are an active couple in our late 60’s who enjoy travel and recreation activities including skiing and mountain biking (Peter) yoga, walking (KAYE). Together we enjoy family, live music, food and the arts.
