Cosy Townhouse In The Heart Of Rennes
Our townhouse is centrally located in the beautiful and historic city of Rennes.
We are two minutes' walk from one of the most beautiful gardens in France, the Thabor park. We are ten minutes' walk from the Parlement of Brittany, the City Hall, and the historic city centre.
Our house, which has a surface area of around nine hundred square feet, is arranged on three floors.
The living room, the dining room and the kitchen are all downstairs, and the kitchen is fully equipped with all the modern appliances you need (oven, microwave, dishwasher etc). There is a computer in the living room.
The three bedrooms are all upstairs, and the master bedroom (on the top floor) has a queen size bed. One of the children's bedrooms has one single bed, and the other has just a baby crib.
There is also a sofa bed downstairs which you can use if needed.
There is one bathroom, which is upstairs.
There is a small but sunny and quiet garden with a table and chairs, deckchairs, and a barbecue.
The house was totally restored in 2016 and offers many agreeable features. It is full of modern comfort but has old-fashioned charm.
The house is ideally located for enjoying the city and its many parks. It is close to shops of all kinds, as well as to transport (a hundred metres away).
Rennes, the capital of Brittany, is a very pleasant place to live in and to explore.
It has a rich historic and architectural heritage (half-timbered houses, medieval cobblestone streets, the Parlement of Brittany, etc), and its famous “Marché des Licesâ€, one of France's largest public markets where local organic producers offer fish and other seafood, vegetables, fruits etc, and Breton specialities every week: a must-see!
There are plenty of things to see and do in Rennes, and there are lots of bars, restaurants and shops. You can go for interesting walks in the cobblestoned historic centre, and visit the Opera and the Parlement.
Rennes is centrally located, less than an hour from many tourist destinations. You can enjoy the sea (Saint-Malo, Saint-Brieuc, Dinard, Cancale, etc), admire the wonder of Mont Saint-Michel, the Morbihan Gulf, La Baule, Dinan, the Forest of Brocéliande, Vannes, etc.
You can also visit the Peace Memorial at Caen and the sites of the D Day Normandy landings.
And you are only one and a half hours from Paris by train, giving you an opportunity to visit the capital of France and its many wonders.
We're Florent and Fanny, a research and development engineer and a medical oncologist.
We have two small daughters: Louise, who is almost five, and Jeanne, who is one year old.
We love travelling, discovering different cultures and places, and living as locals.
Together we have visited more than fifteen different countries, and now that we have two daughters we want to continue discovering new places and explore their cultures.
We have also spent one year in Houston, Texas, for work, and really enjoyed the American way of life.
Don't hesitate to write us; we are open to every offer! Our only condition: it has to be during holiday periods!
