Apartment Steps From Harvard University

Our Home

Our apartment is located only steps from Harvard University. Situated in a classic New England house with a front porch a ten-minute walk from vibrant Harvard Square, our hardwood floors, high ceilings and beautiful sun-filled rooms make this apartment an irresistible home.

More about this property

There is a huge open-plan kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and a brand new washing machine / tumble dryer; a beautiful master bedroom with a queen size bed; a second bedroom; and a bathroom with bathtub and shower.

Our Neighbourhood

A two-minute walk from the flat takes you to our favourite café, The Biscuit, as well as a fantastic wine and cheese shop and some great restaurants (Indian, American, and Spanish tapas).

More about the neighbourhood

Ten minutes from our apartment and you're in the heart of Harvard, where you can explore the university's libraries and museums, or attend world-class lectures and classes at the Harvard Extension School (http://extension.harvard.edu/) on subjects ranging from creative writing to world history, chemistry to finance.

Harvard boasts one of the largest libraries in the world, as well as three stunning museums (the Fogg Museum (newly opened), the Sackler, and the Peabody Museum of Natural History), as well as the art studios of the Carpenter Centre.

We also have two supermarkets only ten minutes' walk away in either direction, Whole Foods and StarMarket; a wine and cheese shop and a butcher's three minutes away; a bar/restaurant round the corner, and a couple of pubs up the street (we're happy to give recommendations – our favourite is an Irish pub with live folk music!), so you really have everything at your fingertips; but we also both have bikes which you're welcome to use to explore the area.

You can also hop on the subway and be in Boston in less than twenty minutes. A few of Boston's greatest treasures are the Museum of Fine Arts, a world-class museum; the delightful personal collection of Isabella Stewart Gardner; and, of course, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, a world-renowned symphony whose concerts we regularly attend, though not as often as we'd like! (Check out their $20 for under 40s deal!)

As for restaurants, Boston is renowned the world over for its fine dining. We would be happy to recommend our favourites to you! A couple worth mentioning here are Bistro Du Midi, situated next to Boston's beautiful Public Garden, an open green space in the heart of the old district of Beacon Hill; Mistral, a sumptuous French restaurant; and Top of the Hub, a 360º dining experience on the 52nd floor of Boston's Prudential Centre with stunning views over the Boston Harbour.

There are also a wealth of activities and places to visit around Boston. Massachusetts has one of the oldest histories in America, and Salem, Plymouth and Concord - home of Louisa May Alcott and Nathaniel Hawthorne - are all within a day trip. Cape Cod, one of the most beautiful shorelines on the East Coast, is accessible from Boston by ferry and boasts a beautiful nature reserve, stunning sandy beaches and bike trails. And then, of course, there is New York, only a few hours' train or bus ride away, the perfect weekend getaway if you want to dip into the cosmopolitan whirl of Manhattan.

Boston and Cambridge are truly some of the most vibrant places to be in America, and we love living here: whether we are looking to relax at home, take classes at Harvard, bike around Cambridge, dine out in Boston, attend concerts or visit art exhibitions, there really is everything to do here. We can't wait to introduce you to this wonderful part of the world!
