Our Home

Family home in central yet quiet location in Edinburgh.

Situated in the conservation area of Shandon, our home is a recently renovated traditional colony double upper house.

It has a kitchen/diner, a large living room, three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

It also has a small private garden.

Our Neighbourhood

Shandon is ideally located for everything Edinburgh has to offer, and has excellent bus connections, being only ten minutes by bus from the very centre of Edinburgh.

Or if you prefer, you can go for a pleasant twenty-minute walk along the Union Canal to the city centre.

We are ideally situated for Edinburgh Castle, museums, galleries, Edinburgh International Festival and much more.

The area has a fantastic family park (two minutes from the house) with play equipment for children.

The Union Canal (also two minutes away) is loved by pedestrians, cyclists, and families.

There are several local grocery shops, a café and other small businesses right on the doorstep.

Other areas within walking distance include bustling Bruntsfield and Morningside with an excellent range of restaurants, boutique shops and supermarkets.

Edinburgh airport is thirty minutes away by bus (with a direct local bus connection to Shandon), and the two main railway stations are also directly connected to the area by bus: Haymarket (five minutes) and Waverley (fifteen minutes).


About Us

We are a family of four, including two children under five.

We love our city home, but love getting away from the city as well!

We like to spend as much time as possible outdoors.

We are looking for a swap for one to two weeks during July/August 2017.

We would consider both Scotland and Europe, in a seaside town or countryside location.
