Beautiful Home In New Zealand

Our Home

Our home is a small paradise! It is beautifully located with lovely views of our town, set below a hill, but elevated and private.

It is an architect-designed quality home with lots of comfortable places to relax.

More about this property

It has an open plan dining and lounge area plus a separate living room, and there is an outdoor area with comfortable seating plus a bar and stools on the deck.

There is a large sweeping lawn plus two orchards and easy walks around the block.

We even have a pool (billiard) room, an artist's studio, and a spa pool set in the hill, where you can look at the view with a glass of wine in total privacy.

Our home is on the Kauri Coast, one hour from Tane Mahuta (the biggest kauri tree in the world) and the village of Omapere, one hour from Whangarei City, and two hours from Auckland City (to the south) and the Bay of Islands (to the north).

Dargaville has all the essentials you need, including a large supermarket and the Warehouse superstore, which has everything you can think of.

It has a wonderful museum round the corner from our home, plus a very good art gallery called the Muddy Waters Gallery, and lots of eating places.

More about the neighbourhood

It is a country town, but just two hours from Auckland.

Dargaville is ten minutes' drive from Baylys Beach, which can be driven upon (four wheel drive recommended), and which is a hundred kilometres in length from Pouto Point to Maunganui Bluff. Mussels can be picked at the bluff at low tide, and the beach is popular for surf casting.

The more adventurous fishermen launch their boats through the surf when there is an easterly wind.

There are also some very good walks or tramps within a short drive of Dargaville.

About Us

We are a couple in our fifties, keen to embark on a great overseas experience in 2017 (preferably for about a month some time during the period May to July).

We are honest and reliable and have owned a lot of property and land over the years, and we understand the respect you need to show when staying in someone else's home.

More about us

We are looking for something fairly central to the south of France, Italy and Switzerland (which are the countries we are keen to experience).

Simon has been a dairy farmer all his life, and I (Pauline) am a painter.

We are open to any ideas and suggestions.
