Comfortable home with easy access to San Antonio.
Kitchen, living room, family room, den, three bedrooms, one full bathroom, one shower room.
Amenities include central heating and air conditioning, washing machine and tumble dryer, two TV sets, Roku, WiFi, computer, telephone, outdoor seating.
We live in a suburb of San Antonio (two miles away) with a bus stop less than two minutes from our home, and the buses will take you directly into Beautiful San Antonio, costing $2.75 for an all day unlimited bus pass.
You are welcome to take our car. The cheapest parking is usually close to the Market Square (staring at $10.00 for the day, compared with $18.00 at other locations). But, unless you plan to be out very late, it is usually less expensive (and much less hassle) to take the bus.
Our neighbourhood is nice to walk in in the evenings, and we have long-time neighbours that you can ask for help or information.
We like to barbecue outside in the evenings, and we then take the food in to eat, or share it outside with our neighbours.
The historic Alamo Mission and Mission San José,
The beautiful river walk and barge rides with international cuisine (many not expensive),
Market Square for shopping, dining, and touting our great Mexican heritage,
Many beautiful museums with world renowned displays.
The beautiful Majestic Theatre featuring current Broadway shows and stars and the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra,
Splashtown (just six miles down the road and great fun),
Sea World and Six Flags amusement parks (you can take a cooler with lunch and drinks and leave them in your car - they both have picnic tables either right inside or right outside where you can eat - but it is expensive to buy food in the parks),
The San Antonio Zoo,
The Pearl Brewery Market, Los Patios,
The Japanese Tea Garden,
- plus all the free entertainment that can be found by just looking on-line.
My husband, Robert, is part of the operations maintenance department for a large Melvin Simon shopping centre. He has been employed there for thirty-one years.
I am a home-maker and retired after many years of working for Jim Wilson, Melvin Simon, and various contractors.
We have six grown-up children - the youngest being twenty-nine and the eldest being fifty.
My husband and I enjoy doing all activities together, and travelling is definitely on our agenda.
We do take care of one of our granddaughters while our youngest son works out of state. She is twelve years old - a great kid - and goes everywhere with us.
