Our Neighbourhood BeachGolfSkiing

You'll find younger, independent students drawn to Swinburne University and its handy location, as well as more mature people and families.

Leafy Hawthorn blends the old and the new, the fast and the slow. Period homes meet modern apartments, student cafés meet fine dining, busy streets meet bike paths.

More about the neighbourhood

Auburn Village, parks and gardens, Hawthorn Arts Centre, Hawthorn Aquatic and Leisure Centre, and the busy Glenferrie Road precinct is close by.

It's also close to Camberwell - Burke Road is a bustling hub of shops, restaurants and cafés, with trams trundling along and trains pulling into the station.

There is everything, from large department stores and supermarkets to hidden coffee roasters and bars and the charismatic Art Deco Rivoli Cinema.

Sundays bring the bargain hunters to the iconic Camberwell Sunday Market - a popular trash and treasure market held every Sunday by the Rotary Club of Balwyn.

Only second hand goods, or hand-crafted goods made by the stallholder are sold at the market, so its great for vintage clothing, crockery and books as well as more unusual treasures!

About Us

I'm a musician and music teacher of mature age. I play the trumpet and the piano, and teach both those instruments, and also the clarinet.

I also sing in a jazz trio and a classical choir, and also with my friend and music partner Colin, who trained as a teacher but now works in IT in the software side of things.

More about us

We both love to travel, and have been to Scandinavia and Europe mainly, as I have family in Sweden and Austria.
