Our Neighbourhood Golf

La Garriga is a small town with 20,000 inhabitants thirty kilometres north of Barcelona, famous as a spa resort because of its thermal springs, but also well known for its modernist architecture and its designer furniture. Lots of childrens playgrounds in the town, 2 within minutes of the appartment.

Lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance.

The town is surrounded by beautiful nature and rolling hills, and there are great walking routes either direct from the town or at short distances via train or car to the National Park of Montseny.

We are thirty minutes by car from the beach, one really nice coastal town is Sant Pol de Mar.

There is a large outdoor/indoor swimming pool two minutes from the apartment, and the Spa Hotel in the centre of the town offers all kinds of thermal water treatments.

There are plenty of restaurants, cafés and supermarkets in the town centre.

The town has an annual summer festival which takes place in August, with various events like concerts, special activities for children, etc.

There is a weekly market on Saturday mornings where you can find fresh produce, home made local treats, typical foods of the area, clothes etc.

We have good public transport connections to the nearby city of Granollers, the medieval city of Vic, and to Barcelona, both by bus and train.

My husband and I have been living here in La Garriga for six years now, although we have spent a total of twelve years in the Barcelona region.

My name is Alma, and I am originally Irish, and Michele, my husband, is Italian.

I am an online marketing consultant, and my husband is a chemical engineer.

We have 3 daughters, 5yr & 2yr and a new baby.

We enjoy nature and going for walks along the river or in the hills.

We also enjoy the city of Barcelona and all it has to offer, not only for adults but also for children. Barcelona is only 35 minutes away by car, or 50 by train, so we are ideally located to be able to enjoy the city without actually having to live in all the hustle and bustle.
