Townhouse - Best Location To Visit Brittany
Beautiful home from the 1910s, situated in the historic Thabor/Sévigné area of Rennes.
Living room, dining room, office, large kitchen, four very large bedrooms, and two bathrooms.
This is a fantastic family home, and it would very comfortably accommodate up to seven people.
Our house is very sunny, quiet and confortable, it's an old townhouse which was renovated in 2009. You will appreciate the sereny of our garden, very peacefull eventhough in the city.
The town center is situated within walking distance from our house (15 minutes) and you can use our bycicles, or public transport. Our neighbourhood is quiet and combines being in the center with relax and a very authentic atmosphere (stonehouses from end of 18th beginning of 19th century).
Very close to our house are the Thabor Gardens, which were created in the 1860s on the site of the orchard of St Mélaine abbey. The public gardens are laid out over 24 acres and include a French garden, an English garden, lawns, an aviary, a children's area and a noted botanical garden, which has around 3,000 species of plant. The gardens regularly host outdoor events in summer.
Our neighbourhood is considered to be one of the most pleasant and soughafter parts of Rennes.
Our street has many friendly neighbours who will help you with anything.
Within a few minutes walk, you will find several bakeries, pharmacy, butchers, grocery shopping, post office, florist, medical office …
The city centre of Rennes has generally been well preserved, with countless examples of architecture from the fifteenth and sixteenth century.
Architecture is one of the city's great treasures, and is a testimony to its historic role as capital of Brittany.
Many of the old timber-framed houses still survive.
Shopping lovers will find what they are looking for in the city centre, with its pedestrian areas full of shops.
Only one hour from Rennes, you can visit Mont-Saint-Michel and its Bay, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mont Saint Michel is one of France's biggest tourist destinations, attracting 3 million visitors a year, tourists and pilgrims. Mont-Saint-Michel was one of the most important sites of medieval Christian civilization. Perched on a rocky islet in the midst of vast sandbanks exposed to powerful tides between Normandy and Brittany stand the 'Wonder of the West', a Gothic-style Benedictine abbey dedicated to the archangel St Michael, and the village that grew up in the shadow of its great walls. Built between the 11th and 16th centuries, the abbey is a technical and artistic tour de force, having had to adapt to the problems posed by this unique natural site.
Rennes is a good base to explore Brittany, by car or by public transport as it has excellent bus and train connections. Rennes is a great city, with also lots to do and visit around : Saint-Malo, Mont Saint Michel, Dinard, Cancale, Nantes, medieval cities (Fougères, Vitré, Dinan )
You will reach the sealine in 45 minutes : there is a lot a beautifull beaches and beautifull landscapes.
