Northern Beaches Holiday Cottage
We are open to exchanges in Europe, NZ and Australia. But try tempting us elsewhere.
Our simple, older-style holiday cottage is where we relax on our deck and watch the boats bob in the bay. Close to beaches. A ferry ride to national park walks. Sail or paddle on Pittwater.
We are open to non-simultaneous swaps or a hospitality exchanges. That's worked for us with northern hemisphere people coming here in our summer while we go in their summer.
Our home in Canberra is also available.
Palm Beach, Sydney's northernmost beach suburb, is on a peninsula with three surf beaches on one side, each with a nice seawater rock pool. The other side fronts Pittwater, which is great for sailing and paddling. The bus that stops outside will take you in a few minutes to the beach, pool, cafes and shops of Avalon.
A ride into the city takes over 90 minutes by bus, and about 45 minutes by car.
Although we have retired from the paid workforce Gerda keeps busy helping to run a disabled sailing program and playing in a recorder orchestra. Jeff is active in Canberra's cycling organisation. But we do like to travel.
As well as learning more history by poking about art galleries, museums, old towns, churches, castles etc, we enjoy the wind on our backs, cycling in the countryside and mixing with locals.
