Large Family Home In Northern Ireland
Our spacious family home is set in half an acre of land, and is in an ideal location for viewing the stunning scenery of the Antrim coast and historic Belfast.
The house is 3,500 square feet, and has a lovely kitchen with an electric Aga range cooker and a log fired range cooker.
There is a sun room with stove sofas and TV, a lounge with open fire and TV and games console, a spacious hallway, four bedrooms, downstairs toilet, and utility room.
Upstairs there is a spacious landing with table and chairs, and three large double bedrooms occupied by the children, and a large family bathroom.
There are some surrounding houses, the nearest of which is a hundred feet to the left of ours.
Our access road is rural, with little traffic but lots of horses, ponies, cows and sheep.
The house is set back from the road, down a long laneway, providing easy access to the main road leading to the Antrim coast, and to the motorway leading to Belfast.
Irish hospitality at its best! The rural town of Randalstown is two and a half miles away, with pubs galore and some good restaurants.
The nearest local pub is fifteen minutes' walk away and offers live music, good food and great craic.
The house is an ideal base for touring Northern Ireland and the north of the Republic of Ireland.
Dublin is two and a half hours' drive away, or one hour on the train.
Belfast is just twenty minutes' drive away, with the famous Belfast Docks, where the Titanic was built. There is now a large Titanic exhibition centre.
The stunning Antrim coastline, and in particular the Giant's Causeway, is an hour's drive away, on beautiful roads winding through the historic Antrim Glens before following some of the most spectacular coast lines in Europe for some thirty miles, before finishing in the quaint Irish village of Cushendun.
We are close to the towns of Ballymena and Antrim, which have all the amenities and shops that you would expect to find in a large town.
(Please note that the location of the house as shown on the Geenee map is incorrect. We are to the north east of the town, and further from the town than is shown on the map.).
I am Pete, in my thirties, married to Grainne (pronounced Gron-ya).
I am a manager in the health service, and my wife is a podiatrist.
We have three little girls: Niamh, aged 14; Amy, 11; and Lucy, 9.
Our house is nice and lovingly kept, but most of all it is our home, and it is a very happy place to be in.
It is child friendly, with lots of toys for children to play with, and swings, slides and a trampoline.
We have enjoyed four previous, very successful home exchanges, visiting Belgium, Nantes, Dieppe and Brittany.
