Our Home

We built this house six years ago. It has five bedrooms, one en-suite bathroom, and there are two other bathrooms, and it sleeps 10 people. It has a large open plan, well equipped kitchen, dining room and lounge. The den has a table tennis table and a snooker table. The house is situated on a large detached site with back patio.

Three of the bedrooms are on the ground level, with the other two upstairs, along with the den and the third bathroom. The house has central heating, washing machine, tumble drier, cooker, fridge, microwave, gas barbecue, and an open log fire.


Our Neighbourhood

The house is situated across the road from the sea, overlooking Galway Bay. There is a pub and very good restaurant 250 yards from the house. Though this is our weekend home, most of our neighbours live here all the year long. It is a rural setting, but very much a community. Shannon international airport is less than a hour away.

Galway City is 26 miles away. The house is ideally located for anyone who wishes to travel to the West of Ireland. There are many wonderful walks on our doorstep, down on the Flaggy Shore, or on numerous green roads up the hills, all accessible from the house. Ballyvaughan village is about 6 miles away, with good shops and restaurants, and Kinvara is a similar distance away.


About Us

We are a family of six, though the older kids are in college and may not travel with us! We are both self-employed running a training and consultancy firm. We spend a lot of time in this house enjoying walks, the quiet, and just getting away from city life. We also enjoy skiing and try to get away once a year as a family.
