Upstairs are a large master bedroom with adjoining bathroom, plus two good-sized bedrooms (twin bed in each) with a shared bathroom. Downstairs from the main floor is an office space with bathroom and fold-out futon couch. The kitchen is up to date with granite counters and all modern appliances. There is also laundry room with washer & dryer.

A car or minivan can be made available as part of the exchange.


Our Neighbourhood

Our house is in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood of North Berkeley, one block from a shopping area with good restaurants, two movie theaters and other amenities. The "gourmet ghetto" is a 25 minute walk (2 km) away, and the university and downtown area are 15 minutes further.

Downtown Berkeley has theatre, music, movies and more excellent restaurants.

Public transportation is close by. Local and San Francisco buses run a block away. The regional commuter train (BART) is 20 minutes away on foot or a short cab ride. San Francisco is 30 minutes away on BART, and about the same by car. Marin County, with Pt. Reyes, Stinson Beach, Mt. Tamalpais and other attractions, is just over the San Rafael bridge. The Napa Valley wine region is a 45 minute drive north.


About Us

We are a family of 4. Catherine is a clinical social worker and Oren is in investment management. Like their parents, Sam (12) and Anna (9) enjoy travel. The house comes with three affectionate cats. (We can arrange for someone to come by and feed them if necessary.)
