Country Cottage In The Cotswolds
300 year old stone cottage in a small village in the south Cotswolds. Our house backs on to national trust woodland with miles of beautiful walks and mountain biking.
We have great south facing views across the valley, a sunny patio with views, and a garden which is unfortunately currently being built on so its just a building site! However you dont need it with the patios in front of the house. The garden does still have a huge trampoline in it though!
Inside it's small, cosy and relaxed. Downstairs has a living room with a woodburner, lovely kitchen/diner and study with a full drum kit should you wish to make some noise. Upstairs are two small bedrooms, bathroom and another study. I will put up some new photos soon of the inside we have a nice new kitchen and fireplace since these pics were taken! It's colourful, cosy, arty and relaxed.
Ruscombe village is set around the side of a valley, with a small chapel next door to us and also a freshwater spring 20 metres from our house. There's a small village shop for groceries and a kids playpark 5 mins down the lane. There's a friendly pub in the village, plus bus stop to get into Stroud and Gloucester.
Stroud is a small market town with a weekly farmers market plus lots of good cafes. There is a strong interest in the arts and environment in the area, with plenty of exhibitions and gigs happening around town. The town itself is set in five valleys, with great views, country pubs and walks.
We are an hour and a half by train to London Paddington, and 40 minutes drive to Bath, 35mins to Bristol and 45 minutes to Cheltenham. You can drive to south Wales in an hour, or south to Devon and nice beaches in just over 2 hours
I am a single mother with a 12 year old son.
We are a laid-back pair who love travelling and meeting like-minded people.
Our interests include mountain biking, snorkelling, walking, travel, music, art, and good books!
