Our Home
Modern house near Narbonne and Carcassonne (Corbieres area) for 6 people.
Our modern house is located in a calm dead-end street in a small village next to Lézignan-Corbières (Aude) in the Midi Pyrénées region.
It is 100 sq.meters with a 750 sq.
meter secure garden with a terrace facing the rear garden, a lawn you can play on or just relax, trees and shrubs. You can safely park your car in the garden.
The house has only one storey and is divided into two parts:
a) a sleeping area with 3 bedrooms, a shower room and toilets;
b) a living area with a modern open kitchen, a dining area and a living room.
It can house up to 6 people (1 double bed in the first room, 2 single beds in another, 2 single beds in the last one). It is designed to be a real home, as we spend all our own holidays there! It is very practical.
We have a large terrace with a table and chairs at the back of the house where we have our meals and watch the stars at night. We also have a few umbrellas (in case there's too much sun!), a deck chair and a sunbed.
Toys for the children and whatever it takes to make giant sandcastles! Many board games.
You'll find leaflets and suggestions for places to visit (Andorra and Spain are a two hour drive away), recommended local restaurants and shops, maps of the area, French tourist guides and even a dictionary and a few English books.
No Phone (but you can bring your own mobile!).

Our Neighbourhood 
Our house is located in a wonderful area, with lots of things to do (visiting and outdoor activities), with a very special atmosphere and beautiful landscapes. it is not yet too touristy (compared to the South East), although many English people enjoy the area.
The village is close to Lagrasse, one of the nicest villages in the area.
You can also go and visit Narbonne, Carcassonne, Perpignan, Collioure. You can also tour the Cathare castles and abbeys.
With the kids, you can spend a whole day in the Reserve Africaine (zoo) in Sigean.
If you enjoy good food, there are many wineries in the area and there are 2 excellent weekly food and clothes markets, ideal for traditional French delicacies in Lézignan-Corbières and Narbonne. There are also very good restaurants in the area.
If you enjoy sports, you can go fishing in the river in the village (licence required but old fishing rods at home!),wind-surfing, sailing or land sailing in Gruissan (35 minutes' drive) practice free climbing in La Clape (with marvelous views) go horse riding, swim in the sea (long sandy beaches) or in the local swimming pool in Lézignan Corbières or in the Orbieu river in the neighbouring villages (5 to 25 minutes' drive) (picture 10), walk on local footpaths or along the Canal du Midi (nice walks or cycling)
If you're a night owl, you can go to the Casino in Gruissan or nightclubs in Narbonne.

We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage well behaved boys.
My husband is a medical doctor and I'm a deputy headmistress in a private school.
