Lovely waterfront home perched on a forty foot bluff over Bayou Plaquemine in a picturesque village with noteworthy cathedral. Village and area is seen in US cinema often and recently in BMW commercials in the US and Europe. Very popular with US movie makers and as a destination for tourists, French is widely spoken. House done to a very high standard with marble bath and quality kitchen with granite counters. Sits on 255 feet of private waterfrontage with massive moss draped live oak trees all around, the location offers seclusion without compromising an in town location. 58 miles from New Orleans International Airport.


Our Neighbourhood

Waterfront. Town's most prominent residents live adjacent (Judge, two attorneys.) House was the guesthouse of the adjacent Creole Maison d'maitre which belongs to our family. Village has a nice authentic Creole feel.

Fifteen minutes away is Nottoway Plantation, the most toured antebellum estate in the US, as well as the largest and noted for being in the most movies of south Louisiana's many much photographed and movie popular homes. The village itself is popular in cinema, having been in a Bette Davis movie even. We renovated the house as our own weekend house and own the surrounding land assuring privacy and quiet with a nice in town location.
